Women's preview | Halifax vs Wolves

Wolves Women play their rearranged league fixture with Halifax on Wednesday evening.

Sunday's game was postponed late on due to a waterlogged pitch and will now take place at a neutral venue - Ilkeston Town's New Manor Ground.

With seven victories on the spin, Dan McNamara’s side are ending the campaign in fine form and have eyes on third spot.

A maximum of 21 points have been collected by the Old Gold in recent weeks, who scored another five goals against Derby last Wednesday.

Halifax have opened the door for Wolves to fight for third place in the final two games following their 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

With 25 points from their 20 games, Rob Mitchell’s side are sat in ninth place and are just two points off Liverpool Feds in sixth having comfortably confirmed their safety.

Halifax are unbeaten in their last three games which include wins over Forest and Derby County and a point against champions Newcastle United.

The two sides recently faced each other at the New Bucks Head last month, with Wolves running out 5-1 winners.
