Wolves Women host Super League opposition for the second successive season as Brighton & Hove Albion visit in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday (1pm kick-off).
Dan McNamara’s side secured their passage into the fifth round for the first time in 20 years with victories over Stourbridge, Peterborough United, Hull City and a dramatic late win at Championship Reading in the last round.
Meanwhile, Brighton were 6-0 winners at Luton Town after entering the competition in the fourth round last month.
It is the second time Wolves have faced opposition from the top tier, having hosted West Ham United in the fourth round of the FA Cup last season. On that occasion, the Hammers ran out 2-0 victors but were made to work hard for their win in front of a record New Bucks Head crowd.
A two-tier gap will separate the sides on Sunday, with Brighton currently competing in the Super League and sitting in 11th place following a run of one win in their last seven league encounters.
The Seagulls are currently managed by Mikey Harris, who is in interim charge following the departure of Melissa Phillips at the start of the month and they come into the game on the back of a penalty shootout defeat in the Continental Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
The Old Gold will be up against a team jam-packed with international quality with the likes of Norway defenders Guro Bergsvand and Maria Thorisdottir, Portugal midfielder Tatiana Pinto and Austrian forward Elisabeth Terland amongst their ranks, while Katie Robinson is full England international with five caps to her name as a Lioness. At just 20, Robinson was the youngest member of the 2023 World Cup squad who reached the final last summer.

WHAT THE GAFFER SAID
“We’re not there to make the numbers. We know it’s a David and Goliath so we want to give a good account of ourselves.
“We want to make sure that the people who come to watch us and the people these girls represent week on week are proud of their performance.
“We’re doing everything we can in the background and we’re looking forward to it.”
