Wolves Women travel to face West Bromwich Albion Women in the first Black Country derby of the season on Sunday afternoon.
Dan McNamara takes his players to the Valley Stadium with the game taking place at the home of Redditch United at the slightly later than usual time of 3pm.
Wolves have a strong record over their rivals and were victorious in all three of last season’s derbies.
In the home league fixture back in October 2022, goals from Anna Morphet, Jade Cross and Amber Hughes secured a 3-1 victory, despite Phoebe Warner giving the Baggies the lead on the half-hour mark.
The two sides then met twice in the space of 10 days in the league and cup in March, as McNamara’s side again took the bragging rights.
Beth Roberts and Destiney Toussaint (2) struck on Albion soil as the Old Gold won on a special night at the Hawthorns, before following up with success in the County Cup, progressing into the final with a 3-2 win at Keys Park.
Wolves currently occupy second place in the Northern Premier Division after a promising start to the 2023/24 league campaign, while Albion sit third from bottom following two wins and a draw from their six matches.

WHAT THE GAFFER SAID
“I think it will be the toughest one we’ve faced in a long time. It’s a new revamped West Bromwich Albion who are probably in a bit of a transition period where they’re bringing in fantastic young players and I know Shiv (Siobhan Hodgetts-Still) has got them playing some great football.
“I think it will be a tough one. We’ll see a real battle on Sunday but hopefully the girls can prepare well this week and we can make sure that we come out on top come Sunday afternoon.”
