Wilson | 'A good way to bounce back'

Ellie Wilson was pleased to bounce back with a 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town after Wolves Women exited the League Cup against Nottingham Forest the previous weekend.

Wolves made their mark on the game early on thanks to an Olivia Fergusson goal inside 30 seconds. Wilson also got onto the scoresheet for the third time this season when she headed home the third goal and collected the Player of the Match award. The Old Gold's victory over the Terriers also meant Dan McNamara's side sealed back-to-back league wins.

On the victory

"I thought it was a good way to bounce back off the back of last week. Four goals and a clean sheet, I can't really argue.

"We had a really strong first half and probably didn't continue it as much as we would have wanted to in the second half in terms of keeping the pressure on, but all round, it was a good day at the office."

On Fergusson's quick goal helping to settle into the game

"Without a doubt. I think it is the second time she's done that now, so she obviously likes a quick goal!

"It settles everyone into the same and allows us to find our flow a little bit, but it does help."

On why the team have had a positive start to the two previous league games

"Just starting quick, quick as we can, as quick as I can. We just want to hurt teams as early on.

"As you settle into the game, it can get a little bit more uncertain the longer it goes on, so we just want to try and hurt teams early doors and get the goal and the points at the end of the day."

On her goal

"I think we had a few set pieces, and I like to think I am a bit of a threat from set pieces, so every time we got a corner, it is a bit of me!

"There was a couple that I missed, and I just threw myself at it. I think Morph [Anna Morphet] actually wanted it, but I put it onto the side of my head, and it's gone in, so I was really pleased that it went in!"

On playing Sutton Coldfield in the Birmingham County Cup

"It will be a little bit different. It's a cup game as well, so in terms of squad, I don't know, and rotation.

"We want to continue the momentum really and keep finding the back of the net because I think there were times where we could of probably done that a little bit more today.

"We want to keep building momentum and carry that through into the next few games as we have got some big league games coming up as well, so that's important."
