Bramford joins Wolves Women

Wolves Women have captured the signature of Sophie Bramford for the second time, with the attacking midfielder re-joining the club after two years away.

Bramford’s first stint with Wolves came when she joined from Birmingham City as an England youth international in July 2019.

Bramford spent four years at Blues prior to checking in at Compton Park and earned further international call-ups for England under-18s whilst playing for Dan McNamara’s side.

In her first spell in 2019/20, Bramford made 19 appearances and scored seven goals in old gold before moving on to Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Stoke City.

However, the midfielder has now returned to Molineux and head coach McNamara is delighted to have secured the signature of Bramford once again.

He said: “We’re delighted to have Sophie back at Wolves. She was a really talented 17-year-old that we had here previously. She’s technically very good and went away to Aston Villa to try and progress and take her football in a different direction.

“She’s had a lot of success over the past couple of years and I think she’s come back a whole different animal. We’re really looking forward to working with Soph, trying to help her settle and have a little bit of consistency with regards to her football.

“Hopefully we can see her putting that onto the pitch and bringing all of those experiences she’s had over the last few years at different clubs and giving her best for Wolves to drive us forward. I’m really looking forward to seeing her further develop over the next few years.”
