Following last Sunday’s season opening victory at Derby County, Wolves switch their attention to the cup competition at the club’s training ground.
Donny Belles are the opponents in the determining round of the FA Women’s National League Cup, with the winners entering the Cup competition and the losers heading into the Plate competition.
Last season, Dan McNamara’s side made it all the way to the semi-final stage of the FAWNL Cup after beating Northampton, Brighouse, Durham and Huddersfield, before losing out on a place in the final to Watford.
Wolves last played Doncaster in March 2020 in what proved to be the final game before the pandemic and lockdown struck.
Sophie Bramford’s late first half goal was enough on that occasion to seal all three points on the road for the Old Gold and in the process extend their lead at the top by 12 points during what was a 12-match unbeaten run at the time.
Sam Winch’s Belles ran riot on the opening day of their new campaign last weekend, putting seven past FC United of Manchester in Division One North to get off to a flying start.
