The defender surpassed Anne Blackham’s previous record of 348 appearances in Thursday evening’s Black Country derby victory at The Hawthorns. After making her debut at the age of 16, Price has been taking one game at a time and in her post-match interview, said that it’s a night she’ll always remember.
Wolves through and through, Price led the team out as captain against the Baggies and played at the heart of the defence as the old gold overturned a one-goal deficit early on to run out 3-1 winners. Price has paid tribute to players past and present, while emphasising that inspiring the next generation is her motivation.
On breaking the appearance record
“I can’t believe it to be honest and it’s not something that I’ve really thought about. When I made my debut at 16 I never thought I’d have as many appearances as I have.
“You just take one game at a time and I’m very proud for it, but today was all about getting the three points at The Hawthorns.
“I’m really proud to come off the pitch tonight with three points and pushing on for the league, ready for the semi-final on Sunday.
“It’s not about the record, but it’s a night I’ll always remember. It’s a special, special night – three points and pushing for the league.”

On leading the team out at The Hawthorns
“I’m a massive Wolves fan so to play here tonight against the Albion and lead the team out is a special moment and something I’ll never forget.
“Tonight’s as important as any of them. That three points tonight has been massive. It’s all about keeping pushing and putting pressure on Forest at the top of the table, and Burnley who are obviously pushing as well.
“For the team to perform the way they did, particularly in the first half, and get the three points is great.”
On being a role model for others
“I’ve been really lucky from a young age to play with the players I have – players that have been here season after season and players who have come and gone.
“I’m really lucky that I’ve got to play with some fantastic players over the years and I don’t feel like I’m a role model, but I love everyone I’ve played with.
“I’ve always had good relationships with the players that have been here and some of them have gone on to play in the Super League.
“It’s all about the current team, the great bunch of girls we’ve got and the girls coming through in the development and RTC.
“It’s all about inspiring the next generation and why can’t Wolves be in the Super League one day? That’s what I’d love to see.”
On her plans in the coming months
“It’s about taking each game at a time, enjoying it and that’s the main thing. I love going to training, I love being around the group, the staff, the players and that’s what it’s about.
“I don’t think too far ahead to be honest. It’s about what we can do this season and making some more memories.”
