Roberts has represented England as an under-18 and under-19 youth international and joins the old gold on a permanent deal.
As the team look to push on in the second half of the season, manager Dan McNamara has been bolstering the squad in various areas. Due to the jam-packed schedule and the girls still competing in two domestic cup competitions alongside the league, McNamara believes Roberts is the perfect addition for the back line.
She slotted straight in at left-back, making her debut in the empathic 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday and is already impressing her new teammates and warming the hearts of the fans.
“Beth is someone that we’ve had our eye on for two or three years,” McNamara explained. “I know she really enjoyed her time at Stoke and we felt now was the right time to go and have a little knock on the door and thankfully she’s come across.
“We’ve seen how much quality she’s got and we’ve dropped her in the deep end against the top of the league. We’ve thrown her in and I thought she was excellent and she was really good with the ball and without the ball, developing that relationship with Anna Morphet.
“We’re really looking forward to working with her over the next few years and hopefully we can do great things together.”
