New signing | Alisha Miller

Wolves Women’s latest signing Alisha Miller is a striker with a spring in her step – understandably so as a former international trampolinist!

Miller not only represented England on the trampoline but was also the country’s 2013 National Champion after taking the 2010 National Girls title.

The Reading-born 24-year-old’s football career took a back seat until she went up to university, but she quickly made up for lost time as she captained the University of York women’s first team and also had a spell with National League Division 1 North team Durham Cestria.

Now studying for a PHD in chemistry at Birmingham University, Miller was spotted by Wolves manager Dan McNamara while she was playing for the Uni team alongside a couple of Wolves players last season.

“Wolves contacted me before the coronavirus lockdown,” reveals Miller, “and they stayed in contact with some excellent support even before I agreed to sign.

“The approach and environment at Wolves is very professional and I really appreciate that – having spent many years in a high intensity sport like trampolining, that’s the way I like to go about my football as well.”

Keen to see the new recruit in action for his team, McNamara says: “Alisha is an exciting striker, not just in goalscoring terms but in her hold-up play and tremendous pace – she’s a real handful and I’m looking forward to seeing her play alongside Jade Cross up front.”
