A frantic, fumbling opening to the National League Division 1 Midlands fixture at Castlecroft led to four early goals and a 2-2 half-time scoreline.
But strong words at the break by manager Dan McNamara sparked a second-half five-goal barrage that could have been heavier as the Belles were blown away.
Price said: “Macca wasn’t happy at half-time – and didn’t we know it! But we knew ourselves that we’d been way below our usual standards in the first-half.
“We struggled quality-wise, we never found any rhythm and Donny made the most of it, so the half-time telling off we got from the manager was deserved.
“But at least we were still in the game at 2-2, and in the second-half we made sure we put it right with a much better performance and some great goals.”
Jamila Palmer and Alice Keitley both hit braces while there was a goal apiece for Lyndsey Glover, Lowri Walker and Jade Cross with her 15th of the season.
The huge victory put Wolves two points clear at the top of the table and established them as the early season promotion favourites.
But Price warned: “We can’t even start to think about promotion. We’ve made a good start to the season, but now we have to stay totally focused.”
