Wolves sign youngster David Wang

Wolves have secured the signing of exciting prospect David Wang, who will go on loan to Sporting CP to continue his development.

The 18-year-old, nominated as one of the ’60 best young talents in world football’ by the Guardian last year, has joined the Portuguese side until the end of the season.

The right-footed winger joins Wolves on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Spanish fourth-tier outfit Jumilla B (Estudiantes) after making 16 appearances for the club during the current campaign.

Born in Spain, Wang grew up in Cuenca, being named the best futsal player in his home province for three consecutive seasons between 2009 and 2012.

In 2014 he joined CD Móstoles in the Spanish under-16s league, featuring for the team during two seasons before a loan spell with Real Murcia’s under-19s.

Last season, Wang – who can speak Spanish, English and Chinese – joined AE Josep Maria Gené on loan where he scored three goals in 24 appearances.

Wang is expected to feature for Sporting’s ‘B’ side following his loan move from Wolves.
