Wolves Under-21s fell to a defeat against Manchester United in the Premier League 2 at the SEAH Stadium on Monday evening.
A brace from Chido Obi and finishes from Tyrell Malacia and Gabriele Biancheri created difficulty for Wolves to earn anything from the fixture, despite their determined efforts.
Wolves’ flow began from the first whistle, it was just 60 seconds into the fixture when Fletcher Holman’s headed effort drifted past William Murdock’s post.
While the clock ticked on United seemed to grow into the game and Alfie Brooks was called into the action when he denied James Scanlon’s low strike.
Opportunities were restricted for either side as both teams tried and tested different routes to venture forward.
That restriction presented opportunities for the Old Gold to strike from range and Ethan Sutherland’s effort dipped over the crossbar ten minutes before the break.
Tyrell Malacia put the visitors ahead with his finish from close range moments before the break.

Gonzalez seemed to be a shining example for the Old Gold and continued his bravery in the second half as James Collins’ side searched for an equaliser.
Obi doubled the Red Devils’ advantage after a scramble in the 18-yard-box, which provided an uphill task for the Old Gold.
Moments later it was Biancheri’s deflected effort in the 73rd minute that put the game beyond Wolves.
Sutherland did create a glimmer of hope for Collins’ side when his strike found the top corner to reduce the deficit after Makenzie Bradbury's cross was deflected into his path.
However, Obi’s second goal of the evening three minutes later denied any chance of a comeback for the young Wolves.
