Wolves 0 Nottingham Forest 1 (McClure 67’)

Wolves under-21s fell to a narrow defeat against Nottingham Forest at the Aggborough Stadium in their final fixture of 2025 in the Premier League Cup.

Blaine McClure’s second half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides.

After taking a moment to remember the devastating loss of former Wolves player Ethan McLeod, Wolves entered the early stages full of confidence after a lively opening 20 minutes.

Patience was pivotal for Wolves, who had majority of the possession, but failed to deliver any danger towards Aaron Bott’s goal.

Despite their control, Archie Whitehall’s strike caused worry to Lewys Benjamin’s goal on the 25th minute with a snatched effort

Fletcher Holman’s fierce effort forced Bott into a low diving save five minutes later as Wolves continued to grow as the clock ticked on.

Shortly after the restart, Luke Rawlings’ individual brilliance created Wolves another opportunity which stung the palms of Bott.

Fuad Smith snatched at an effort with Forest continuing to cause problems for the Old Gold in brief spells.

The visitors eventually broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when Blane McClure’s effort found the bottom corner.

Despite their determined efforts, James Collins’ side had limited chances in the final stages of the game and failed to find the goal they required.
