Chiwome shortlisted for February's PL2 Player of the Month

Leon Chiwome is in the running for February’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The striker has been nominated alongside seven other young players competing in the division.

Wolves under-21s played two matches in the second month of the year and Chiwome featured in both – a 3-3 draw at Manchester City followed by a 3-0 Black Country derby success over West Bromwich Albion.

And Chiwome was the main man against the Old Gold’s local rivals, scoring twice in the second half to help secure three PL2 points as well as the bragging rights.

The nominees have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel. The panel will also decide the winner, who will be announced next week.

Todd Alcock (Aston Villa), Leo Castledine (Chelsea), Jayden Danns (Liverpool), Zak Gilsenan (Blackburn), Brodi Hughes (Chelsea), Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba (Aston Villa) and Ronnie Stutter (Chelsea) have also been nominated.
