Leon Chiwome has described getting all three Premier League 2 points against West Bromwich Albion as a ‘great feeling’.
The under-21s striker scored twice in the 3-0 Black Country derby victory on Monday night and Chiwome felt the goals were coming after a goalless opening 45 minutes at the New Bucks Head.
On winning the game
“It was a great feeling and good to get three points. It’s especially one for the fans because we know how much this game means to them and means to the culture of the club. We’re very happy.”
On keeping the levels up
“We were on top for most of the game and I had a few chances in the first half. The keeper saved it, there was one handball, a couple of other chances but we definitely had to ride the wave a little bit.
“We just needed to keep pushing and knew the goals were going to come at some point.
“At half-time the gaffer just spoke to me and said to keep pushing and you’ll get one. Thankfully I got them in the second half.”
On scoring twice
“I’m really happy. The last couple of weeks I hit the woodwork twice against Arsenal and twice against Man City, so it feels amazing to finally get the brace and help my team get the three points.”
Came for the goal, stayed for the knee slide.

On the team spirit
“The team are in good spirits. We’ve only lost one game since the New Year, the Bournemouth game, so we’re unbeaten apart from that one game.
“We’re just trying to get our points up, get our team stride together and keep pushing every game.”
