U21 preview | Wolves vs Blackburn

Wolves under-21s face Blackburn Rovers in their final game of 2023 on Monday evening.

The Premier League 2 fixture takes place at Aggborough, with the youngsters in Old Gold looking to end the year with victory in Kidderminster.

A three-game winning run in all competitions was ended by Norwich City in the Premier League Cup last Monday, as the Canaries won by a goal to nil.

Prior to that, James Collins’ side had won for the third game running in the International Cup while also taking all three points home from Leicester City.

Blackburn currently sit bottom of the PL2 table with four points from their opening nine games. Their one solitary league win came back in August when they defeated Leicester City 4-1.

Last time out, Rovers lost 4-0 at Norwich City so Mike Sheron’s side will be looking to put an end a frustrating start to the season.

In this fixture last season, Blackburn were narrow 1-0 winners at Compton Park as a Ben Fyles penalty secured all three points on that occasion.
