PL Cup preview | Wolves vs Charlton

Wolves under-21s continue their Premier League Cup campaign at home to Charlton Athletic on Sunday afternoon.

The two sides go head-to-head at Aggborough in their third fixture of Group C looking to put pressure on Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth who currently occupy the top two places.

Wolves are third and have collected two points from their opening two fixtures in the competition – a 2-2 draw at Norwich before a goalless draw with Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, the Addicks sit bottom of the group following heavy home defeats to Bournemouth and Norwich.

Managed by Chris Lock, Charlton are placed in eighth position in the Professional Development League but were clear victors in their last outing – a 5-0 success over Ipswich Town.

James Collins’ side come into the game following Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat at Derby County which ended their Bristol Street Motors Trophy journey for another season.

However, the youngsters in Old Gold have shown plenty of encouraging signs throughout the season and prior to being beaten at Pride Park, had only lost one out of their last six games in all competitions.
