The youngsters are back at the golden palace for the first time since last December, when Wolfsburg visited in the same competition.

The German side ran out 2-0 winners that evening but this time, it is Dutch opposition standing in the way of James Collins’ group of players.

PSV are the reigning champions of the Premier League International Cup following an extra time victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in last season’s final back in May.

While Wolves play their first group game on Monday, PSV have already secured their first three points of the campaign following a 3-1 success over Nottingham Forest last month.

In the Eerste Divisie, PSV currently sit in 12th position after collecting 13 points from their opening nine games.

Meanwhile, the Old Gold come into the game having lost just twice in their last seven games – the latest being a 2-0 defeat at Lincoln City in the EFL Trophy last Tuesday.

WHAT THE GAFFER SAID

“It’s as tough as you get. I watched them play Fulham last season in the semi-final and they were probably the best under-21 team I’d ever seen.

“They were as good as anything I’d seen. There will be slight personnel changes from that, but I think they haven’t lost in 10 games in this competition.

“It’s going to be as hard a game in youth football you can get, but that’s the challenge in our home ground in front of our supporters.

“We’re looking forward to it and seeing how our players react to that sort of test.”
