Kandola signs Wolves extension

Academy defender Kam Kandola has signed a two-year contract extension at Wolves until the summer of 2025.

The Wolverhampton-born centre back has progressed through the ranks at Compton Park for the past 12 years.

Prior to gaining his first professional contract in November 2021, Kandola established himself in the under-18s squad and has since gone on to become a regular within James Collins’ under-21s group.

Kandola has started the 2023/24 season in the heart of the defence for the Old Gold, starting both Premier League 2 fixtures against Fulham and Stoke City.

Academy manager for football, Jon Hunter-Barrett, said: “Kam’s got excellent leadership skills and is a good personality who really understands the game. He’ll play an integral part in James Collins’ side once again throughout the 2023/24 season.

“It’s always nice to reward players in general, but also those who have been here a long time. Kam’s progressed all the way through our development ranks and found his home as a centre back in our under-21s.”
