Oliver Tipton’s penalty 11 minutes from time gave Wolves under-21s all three points at Leicester City and a second PL2 win on the spin.
Skipper Tipton duly dispatched from 12 yards after substitute Tyler Roberts was fouled inside the area, with the victory lifting James Collins’ side up to 10th in the table.
It was a tale of two halves at Seagrave, as Wolves controlled much of the opening 45, before having to dig in throughout the second to get over the line.
In one of three changes from last Monday’s success over Arsenal, Kam Kandola returned to the starting line-up in the heart of the defence and went close early on, flicking a header just wide from an Aaron Keto-Diyawa free-kick.
Nathan Fraser did well to get the right side of his marker after being slotted through by Harry Birtwistle, but the striker saw his path to goal thwarted when Chituru Odunze came out to close the angle.
Leicester’s best chance of the half came when Logan Briggs combined with Tawanda Maswanhise, with the latter connecting with the cross into the box, before heading comfortably wide of Louie Moulden’s right-hand post.
From a similar move, Wolves came closer at the other end when Owen Hesketh delivered a sublime ball into the danger zone. Keto-Diyawa had peeled off in the centre and made contact with his head, but he was unable to divert on target as the ball flashed wide.
The lively Owen Farmer then skipped his way down the left and crossed into an inviting area, however those in the middle weren’t quite quick enough to get on the end of the delivery.
On the stroke of half-time, Dexter Lembikisa saw his effort batted away by Odunze after the full-back had been picked out by a clever Fraser pass.

The second 45 was a lot less eventful, with Wolves digging deep and neither side able to conjure up much in front of goal.
After a free-kick was won 25 yards from goal, Hesketh stepped up to take responsibility, but couldn’t keep his strike down, as the ball sailed comfortably over.
Foxes substitute Kian Pennant skewed an effort wide for the home side, before the defining moment came with 79 minutes on the clock.
Fresh off the bench, Roberts’ quick feet inside the penalty area drew a foul from Harvey Godsmark-Ford and the referee pointed to the spot.
Often the man to deliver under the pressure from 12 yards, Tipton once again took the responsibility and picked out the bottom right corner with a low penalty kick that was out of reach of Odunze.

Collins’ men had just over 10 minutes plus stoppage time to see the game out and did well to limit their hosts to next to nothing in the attacking third. In fact, Roberts almost sealed it with a late strike that flashed just wide of the far post, as the old gold held out to record back-to-back PL2 victories for the second time this season.
