The two sides faced each other at the New Bucks Head two weeks ago, as Dylan Scicluna’s second half goal secured all three points for the old gold.
That made it two wins from two in the competition this season, with Wolves gaining maximum points from their fixtures so far.
Head coach James Collins recently returned to the dugout following a spell with the first team and will now have full focus on ensuring Wolves progress from Group H.
The Black Cats sit ninth in Premier League 2 Division 2, having collected eight points from their opening 10 games, while all three of their PL Cup games have ended in defeat.
The competition takes centre stage for Collins’ men in the build-up to Christmas, with Premier League International Cup fixtures against Valencia and Wolfsburg at Molineux also on the agenda.
