James Collins’ side have claimed a win and two draws from their opening three matches of the year, and the arrival of the Blues to Aggborough could see the side move up the Division 2 table.
The under-23s claimed victory in the north east last time out in the league as a pair of Chem Campbell goals saw Collins’ men take the spoils away at Sunderland, which also saw a first start in gold and black for January signing Chiquinho.
Birmingham come into the game off the back of a defeat to top of the table Fulham, but they will be buoyed by their win at home to fellow West Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion two weeks ago.
However, Wolves will hope they can replicate the result from the last time the sides met, as an Ollie Tipton penalty and Luke Cundle’s sweet strike earned all three points against 10-men Blues, who saw Duncan Idehen dismissed early on.
Kicking off at 7pm, Wolves season ticket holders can watch Wolves under-23’s home matches for free by producing their season ticket smartcards at the turnstiles on arrival.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
After Friday’s Premier League Cup draw against Swansea City, James Collins said he make changes to the side for this evening’s clash with the Blues, having rested some of the more senior members of his squad with two matches in the space of four days.
“It won’t be a change of squad, but what there might be is one or two coming in. Hugo [Bueno] was on the bench today and he will come back in. We rested a few today and he boys you saw on the bench today will be up for selection.
“I’m not sure we’ll get the boys who are in the first-team squad back as they’ve got a big week with Arsenal on Thursday and then another game at the weekend, so we’ll wait and see if we get any of them back.
“Tyler [Roberts] is ok, but he might not be ready for Monday, so it will be the same squad, but it won’t be the same team.”
