James Collins’ side finished fourth in the regular season, setting up a trip to Selhurst Park, where they’ll battle it out for a place in the final against either Stoke City or Sunderland.
A play-off campaign represents an impressive response from the Wolves youngsters, who were relegated from Division 1 last season via points-per-game, but are now in a position to gain an instant return to the top flight.
The under-23s will be happy with how they finished the regular campaign, with a reverse at Reading the only blot on the copybook from the final five, with included resounding victories over Newcastle United and Norwich City.
Owen Hesketh and Conor Carty were on target on the final day, in a 2-2 draw with the Royals, so go into the season extender with a spring in their step, which Carty explained to wolves.co.uk last week.
As for the Eagles, they finished the league season with back-to-back victories, both coming against Middlesbrough, which banished the memories of their defeat to Newcastle at the end of April.
During the regular season, Wolves and Palace won a game each in the head to heads, with the Eagles 2-1 winners at Selhurst Park in October, before Wolves gained revenge with a 2-0 success in the reverse fixture in February.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
Head coach James Collins knows the tough challenge ahead of his side, but is taking heart from their impressive performances in recent weeks.
He said: “We’re pleased to have made the play-offs. We now hope to do as well as we can and progress to the final. If you’re getting to the play-offs and the final, you’ve got to get a result against the best.
“We’ve got to rise to the challenge and see if we can produce some of the play we’ve produced over the past couple of months. Since the Aston Villa game, I think we’ve been excellent other than the Reading blip, so we’re going into the play-offs feeling good.”
