On Monday evening Wolves travel to Crystal Palace for their play-off semi-final, knowing they’re two games away from an instant return to the Premier League 2 Division 1. James Collins’ side go into the tie on the back of a much-improved performance against Reading and Carty himself with a goal to his name against the Royals, and he’s looking to finish the campaign in style, both personally and as a collective.
On looking to the play-offs
“I think towards the end of the season and looking towards next season, we want to finish on a high. We want to put in big performances.
“As young players, we want to play in these big games and show what we can do because obviously it’s a big platform for us to showcase what we have.”

“Coming towards the end of the season and, after the injury, I’m putting it right. Hopefully I can finish off the season on a high.
“Obviously, last year I didn’t get to push into the 23s as much, so I’m just trying to leave a marker for next season and hopefully bring my performances from the end of this season into the start of next season.”
On the draw with Reading
“We knew that if we did get the three points that it would have put us into third place and obviously have home advantage as well, but we found out in the changing room after that we have Palace away.
“Obviously, we wanted home advantage, and hopefully get some fans into Molineux, but it wasn’t to be, and we have Palace away, so we’ll focus on that.”
On the response from the 5-0
“We worked a lot in training on overlaps and two versus two defending, and runs in behind, and we brought it into the game, it was just unfortunate with the late goal.
“We knew it was going to be difficult, but performed really well. We worked as a team and were solid. The result obviously didn’t go our way, but happy with the performance overall.”
