The defender headed home an Elliot Watt free-kick 12 minutes after the restart to earn this team a well-deserved draw after the development side fell behind after just 30 seconds into the Group E match. Although he felt his team could have got more from the game, the Hungarian was happy to have scored in front of almost 5,500 supporters inside Molineux.
On scoring at Molineux
“It was my first proper goal for Wolves. I’ve scored in a friendly game, but this was my first league goal so I’m very happy for it.
“I didn’t realise that the defender’s foot was so close to my head, I just saw the ball. We trained on this in the sessions, that Dion [Sanderson] would get me a block and then I’d spin round the back, so I just saw the ball and headed it.
“We saw we could hurt PSG from set-pieces, and we did it already this season against Derby, it was the same, but I got the assist from that situation, so I expected the ball - a great ball from Elliot [Watt].
“I hope it’s the first of many, but I’m a defender so my first job is not to concede, but of course it’s a happy moment for me to score my first goal.”
On reacting to the early goal
“We didn’t start the game well, we didn’t concentrate, and we let the guy cross the ball and didn’t pick up in the centre. After the goal, everybody said to keep going, forget the goal and start the game again from zero-zero.
“It was really hard for us to concede in the first minute, but this is football. It reminds you that you must always concentrate and start the game well. If you start the game well then it will be a better game.”
On chances to secure the three points
“We had many chances to make it better in the second-half, but we blocked the spaces and they didn’t have the chance to pass the ball like they did in the first-half.
“After my goal, we had a couple of chances, maybe Chem [Campbell] could have scored, so we’re disappointed a little bit, but of course a draw is better than a loss.”
On playing in front a Molineux crowd
“It was great to play in front of 5,000 people and it felt really good just to be out on the pitch. In the first minute I was shocked really, but you have to try and forget the crowd, don’t stress because there’s 5,000 people watching you, just keep doing what you can do.
“But it was really good and it’s my dream to play in the Premier League in front of many people, so I hope that in the future I can be playing here again.”
On being on a good run of form
“When I came back off loan I didn’t play straight away, but I just trained hard and showed the manager that I’m good enough to play.
“Thanks to Mark for giving me a chance against Derby, I had a great game there, and I’m a lot more confident now as I’ve played many games in the last few months, so I’m really happy to play for this team.”
