Wolves U23 striker Aaron Collins believes the side put in a good performance against Fulham on Tuesday at AFC Telford's New Bucks Head stadium.
Despite the result, he’s called on the team to carry over that performance into their upcoming game against Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The 20 year old began, “We’re disappointed in the result, but we know we played well.
"We need to carry that performance on into Middlesbrough and make sure we’re solid at the back."
The 20-year-old striker thought that Wolves dominated the game, but just lacked that final ball, “In the first-half, we weren’t good enough in the final-third.
“We dominated possession, we just didn’t get the final end product right.
“Second half, I think we dominated them again, but we weren’t good enough.
The former Newport County striker was left frustrated and felt that Fulham going 2-1 up was the turning point in the match.
After Fulham opened the scoring in the first half through Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson, Wolves hit back through a superb strike by Collins in the 53rd minute.
It was in the final ten minutes where the visitors took the lead through Elijah Adebayo, and Thorsteinsson added two more to complete his hat-trick and the Fulham win.
Collins said, “We got to 1-1, and then as soon as it went 2-1, our heads just went and we didn’t keep it as well as we should have.
“We all worked hard, showed desire and intensity was high, it’s just frustrating because we should have never lost 4-1.
The Wales youth international was delighted to get on the scoresheet despite the defeat.
When asked to describe the goal he said, “I knew where I was putting it.
“I knew I wanted to cut inside and whip it into the top corner and it came off for once - usually it hits the top of the stand, it was a good goal!
Wolves U23’s next fixture is away to Middlesbrough on Sunday 29th October.
