Adam Armstrong says Wolves’ late show against Arsenal on Wednesday night shows the belief that is growing in the dressing room.
Tom Edozie came off the bench for his Wolves debut and scored a stoppage time equaliser to earn his side a point, after Hugo Bueno had started the turnaround from 2-0, making it a third match unbeaten for the Old Gold.
Armstrong worked tirelessly up front and, knowing Edozie’s brother from his time at Southampton, the striker was delighted to see Tom get his moment and maintain the positive turn in form for Wolves.
On a big draw for the team
“It was a game of two halves. I think we started a bit slow with their first goal, it was sloppy on our side not stopping the cross, but I thought we came into the game excellently. The second half, the grit and determination that the boys showed was amazing, and the crowd were right behind us trying to get that second goal.
“Hugo’s goal was a big shift in the game. It’s a great strike and gave us that lift, and the fans gave us a lift as the 12th man. We just kicked on, were positive, played forward, won second balls, and I thought we were fantastic second half.”
On a special moment for Edozie
“I was thinking just to hit it on target, and that’s exactly what he did. He deserves it. I knew his brother at Southampton, so I’ve been taking good care of him. I’m delighted for him, he trains hard every game and has been itching for a chance.
“He comes on last ten minutes and gets the goal, it’s amazing, I’ve been there as a young lad. He has to embrace this feeling and want more of it. They’re a great family, it’s a great moment for him, his first goal in the ‘Prem’. Amazing. Amazing.”

On the character shown
“We had to. We know what sort of side they are; they’re an amazing team, we know that. It was how we dug deep towards the end, and we felt like there was always a chance to get a goal. We have to keep believing, taking every game as it comes as cliched as it is, but we knew we could force them back and try to put them on the back foot, and to come back from 2-0 is amazing for where we are. Incredible.
“We have to do that every game. Since I’ve come in, the boys have made me feel like home straight away. We have to take every game as it comes. If we put performances like that second half, we’ll keep getting better and better, and we have to because we know the situation that we’re in.”
On momentum to take forward
“We’ll keep working off positive results, that’s all we can do and get the fans behind us. They know where we’re at and we know where we’re at, and we have to be better. But the positive is three games unbeaten and we have to keep going.”
