Krejci | 'The confidence and the feelings are better'

Ladislav Krejci has sensed a confidence shift both in training and in matches for Wolves and has called on the group to now turn draws into wins.

The Old Gold are unbeaten in five in all competitions following Sunday’s goalless draw with Newcastle United, and the resilience on show to remain in the game and secure a clean sheet shows the effect of Rob Edwards in the dugout.

Krejci is aware that draws alone will not change the landscape of Wolves’ season, but knows they represent significant steps forward, which will hopefully lead to more victories during the second part of this campaign.

On another point at the weekend

“Perhaps [it could have been three points]. But I think it could have been for both sides. We’re still building our shape, our face, our confidence. I'm happy with another clean sheet and the opportunity to take three points. We took only one, but it’s something. Now it’s about what we can follow up with in the next games, and we need to continue.

“We know about their qualities in the last part [of the pitch]. We know not only strikers, but lots of midfielders arrive to the box to finish. So, we needed to solve it. We solved it well and were waiting for some chances for our opportunities, which didn't come, but also we didn't give them a lot of chances to score, so I think a draw is fair enough.”

On a change in spirit

“Of course, you feel it on the pitch, and also with us in the dressing room as well. Of course, the confidence and the feelings are better when you start winning or start getting some points, not only losing like in the past. We feel it, and this is what we have to continue. Draws against these top teams in top form are good, but not enough for us because we know our situation.”

On turning draws into win

“The only hope for us is winning. I don't want to say we are happy with the draw 100 per cent, but it's a process we have to go through, and I believe it will help us for the future games – we will need it more. We will take the point, because we remember the start of the season and the middle of the last year, when we were close to the point or a win, and we always lost in the last minutes. Now, we are better at this and in the future we need more and to start getting results.”
