Toti | 'It’s tough to keep suffering like this'

Toti admits it’s tough to take the run of form Wolves have been on, especially after having chances to turn games in their favour which keep coming up short.

The Old Gold captain was hoping his team could build on their positive display at Villa Park at the weekend when they faced Nottingham Forest under the Molineux lights on Wednesday, but a lack of cutting edge when opportunities came around, together with Igor Jesus’ header up the other end, ensured Wolves would be condemned to a 12th defeat of the season.

On defeat against Forest

“We are very disappointed. We wanted to keep the momentum from the last game. We know we did very well in the last game, and we wanted to do it in this game, especially playing at home.

“We know that we didn’t have a very good first-half and we tried to change that for the second-half.

“We had chances to score as well, but they went there and they scored, and it’s tough to keep suffering like this.”

On changes at the break

“It needed to change. It didn’t look like us in the first-half, that’s true, and that was coming from all the players, including myself.

“We came to the second-half, we tried to change, create more, and we had chances to score as well, but it’s tough when it goes like this.

“When we don’t score our chances, the opponent can go there and can cause us damage, and unfortunately, that was what happened.”

On not taking chances

“It’s been tough since the beginning of the season. We’ve always been having this problem, but we are not pointing fingers at anybody because we are a team and we are working together on that.

“We’ve been working on that to try to improve and have more chances and score and score. To be to be fair, we’ve been very unlucky because every game we’ve had two or three clear chances to score, and we haven’t been able to score our chances, and this is tough.”
