Wolves’ Carabao Cup victory over Everton is the theme of a packed midweek episode of Wolves Express.
Head coach Vitor Pereira, goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, first goal scorer Marshall Munetsi and Old Gold hero Matt Murray all feature on Wednesday’s episode, dissecting the 2-0 victory which put Wolves into the fourth round.
The returning Johnstone is up first after keeping the club’s first clean sheet of the season. He discusses bouncing back from Saturday’s loss, the desire to put things right and the happiness at being back on the pitch.
Former goalkeeper Murray was watching from the press box, and he joined Matchday Live Extra to praise Johnstone for his professional performance, saying he did what he had to do without, crucially, “going looking for work”.
Pereira changed system to a back four and explains that tactical tweak, the positive vibes he saw when his players left the pitch and how those levels now need to be maintained by his side.
Finally, Munetsi, fresh from scoring his first goal of the season, is also on the show. He touches on Pereira’s changes in system and personnel, his own strike and the desperation to see Tolu Arokodare’s celebration for the first time.
Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
