Vote | Gomes up for Premier League’s February award

Wolves’ Joao Gomes has been nominated for the Premier League’s EA Sports Player of the Month award following an outstanding February for the midfielder.

The Brazilian returned from suspension at the start of the month and earned his first assist of the season before netting the first brace of his professional career two games later.

To start the month, Gomes took just 22 minutes of his first start since coming back from a three-game ban to set up Matheus Cunha for an equaliser against Chelsea. Wolves went on to win the match 4-2, with the Brazilian influential in the centre of the park.

Two games later, Gomes had one of the most remarkable games of his young career, as the 23-year-old scored twice in victory away at Tottenham Hotspur – with Gomes revealing after the match that it was his first ever brace.

The month was concluded at home to Sheffield United and Gomes once again produced another impressive display to help his team grind out an important three points.

Wolves’ number eight is one of eight nominated for the award, but Wolves supporters can vote for the midfielder below.
