Having scored a stunning equaliser to help Wolves fight back to take their FA Cup third round tie against Brentford to a replay, Tommy Doyle was pleased with the togetherness and resilience displayed by his team.
The Manchester City loanee had to patrol the centre of the park by himself for the majority of the contest after fellow midfielder Joao Gomes was shown a red card inside the opening 10 minutes at the Gtech Community Stadium, before he struck an incredible effort to earn Wolves a place in the pot for the fourth round draw.
On fighting for a draw
โIt was difficult. We know as soon as the red card happened that it was going to be a tough match. It becomes an uphill battle as soon as you go down to 10 men, but I think that just shows how resilient this team is, how together this team is.
โObviously, Joao made a mistake and we had to stick together, so to come away with a draw and take it to a replay, for us, is really good.โ

On Gomesโ sending off
โI donโt know whether it was a sending off. Maybe it was a red card, Iโm not too sure as it happened fast. I saw his ankle roll, but Iโm not sure.
โI know there was one on me where it was probably similar, so if you go off that then it should be a red card for them too. But whatever the refโs decision is we have to go by and thatโs what we did.โ
On his stunning equaliser
โIโve never hit a shot so sweetly with my left foot! With them balls, whenever you get the opportunity to have a shot, they move a lot, so youโve got to try and put your foot through it.
โI hit it really nicely and thankfully it went in.โ
A thing of beauty.

On the upcoming winter break
โThe lads have worked really hard and now we can have a break. We can relax and get ready for when we come back because it will all come thick and fast once again.
โWeโve got some good, tough games when we come back so itโs exciting.โ
