Wolves discover possible FA Cup fourth round opponents

Should Wolves overcome Liverpool in their 2022/23 Emirates FA Cup third round replay, Julen Lopetegui’s side will face Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round.

Wolves were denied a spot in the next stage at the first time of asking following a controversial offside decision at Anfield on Saturday evening which saw Toti's first goal in gold and black ruled out.

After the thrilling game ended 2-2 – Goncalo Guedes put Wolves ahead, but Liverpool hit back through Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah before Hee Chan Hwang equalised for the visitors – the old gold will now face a replay at Molineux. Details of this fixture will be announced once confirmed.

Reward for whoever wins that third round contest will be a visit to the Amex Stadium to take on fellow Premier League outfit Brighton during the weekend of 28th/29th January.

The side in gold and black last faced the Seagulls in November at Molineux, with the visitors securing a narrow 3-2 win over a ten-man Wolves.

Brighton reached the fourth round following a 5-1 thrashing of Championship outfit Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
