Ruben Neves, Maximilian Kilman and Nathan Collins are all up for the award, after impressing during the club’s opening six matches of the 2022/23 campaign.
Neves has taken the armband responsibilities since Conor Coady’s departure and revelled in it, topping the Wolves stats for tackles with 22, interceptions with 10 and shots blocked with six.
The midfielder’s 48 accurate long passes were double any of his teammates, while his stunning strike against Newcastle United was arguably the moment of the month.
Kilman has adapted from a back three to four without a glitch and has been a rock in defence, while contributing to attacks, with his clever through ball setting Wolves on their way to the opening goal against Preston North End.
The defender has completed 344 passes – the most of anyone in old gold this season, likewise on clearances with 28, continuing his strong form from last season.
Alongside Kilman during each game of August has been Collins, with the pair forging a strong partnership in defence – Collins is second behind Kilman for passes completed with 330.
The Irishman himself is up for the August award, at the first opportunity, having joined from Burnley in the summer and quickly settled in, displaying his love of defending and carrying the ball out from the back.
