Watch | Go behind the scenes of training camp

Wolves supporters are being given an access all areas look behind the scenes of the Alicante training camp with a host of videos, photo galleries, and interviews with the first-team squad.

Bruno Lage’s men have been out in southeast Spain for the past eight days, working hard to get fully prepared for the upcoming 2022/23 Premier League season.

While out in Spain, Wolves will gain match fitness with four friendlies over the next five days, kicking off on Wednesday evening against Segunda Division outfit Deportivo Alaves. Click here to find out how to watch all the action.

As the players jetted off to Alicante, wolves.co.uk brought you the best of the images captured by club photographer Jack Thomas as the squad boarded the aeroplane in Birmingham, before pre-season training intensified in their first day at camp.

The players began to settle into their new surroundings, and the video below showcased all the goals, and drills from the training pitch, before the Wolves TV cameras joined the boys in ice baths and the swimming pool, where they were greeted with a heated game of headers.

Training in 35 degrees can be hot and tiring work for the players, so it’s important for them to cool down, and that’s exactly what they’ve been doing in the hotel pool – with images caught on camera here, while video of the watery activities, including headers, yoga and light sessions on the bikes can be seen below.

After a whirlwind couple of days, new signing Nathan Collins sat down with Gemma Frith for his first interview as a Wolves player.

In the video below, and in the story here, you can watch the pair cover an array of topics, from the transfer itself, to facing Wolves last season, the teammates he already knows, his hopes for his time at the club and a message for the fans.

During the weekend, the players were building up to their first friendly fixtures while out in Spain by going head-to-head in an inter-squad training match. It was another hot day, but it didn’t stop the competitive action on the pitch, as can be seen in this photo gallery.

There was also plenty of action on the training pitch on Saturday – before the players were given a bit of time off on Sunday – and in the video below, Raul Jimenez, Hee Chan Hwang, Leander Dendoncker and Morgan Gibbs-White were just a few of the players finding the back of the net in a goal-heavy compilation.

Having spent the last campaign on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship, academy graduate Gibbs-White is back with the Wolves squad this pre-season, and Gemma caught up with him over the weekend.

During their chat, they spoke about his loan spell, his progression, the hard work the team are currently putting in on pre-season, his hopes for the upcoming campaign, and there's even a mention of how the team have been bonding over Love Island.

Having marked a week since the players arrived at their Benidorm base, preparations for this evening’s friendly with Alaves kicked up a notch, with the gallery here showing how tough it is training in such heat.

It’s always good to take a dip in the pool to cool down in between the two training sessions a day that the players are currently working through, and that’s exactly with Daniel Podence did when he was the latest player to chat to Gemma.

He talks getting married in Portugal in the company of many of his teammates, heading to Tanzania for his honeymoon and those tough double sessions, as he prepares to have his best season yet in gold and black.

Tuesday saw the players take part in their final evening training session before the matches get underway, and there was plenty of great content caught on the cameras.

You can find out why Conor Coady has an issue with Max Kilman's choice of training wear, before they patch things up with some impressive two touch, as well as the possession and finishing drills that are on the agenda.

We’ve now reached gameday! In just a few hours’ time, the players will be on the pitch at the Estadio Olimpico Camilo Cano – to give the stadium its full name – taking on Alaves and you can see what exactly the players have been working on in pre-season.

Click here to find out how you can watch all the action, live from La Nucia, with the match kicking off at 6pm BST, or 7pm local time.
