Nuno pleased with 'deserved' triumph

Nuno Espirito Santo was delighted with his whole team performance as Wolves kept their first clean sheet in ten matches as the side cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Ham United.

Two goals from Raul Jimenez and one from defender Romain Saiss gave Nuno’s side their first Premier League double of the season, following the 1-0 result against the Hammers back in September.

Following the game, Nuno said he was pleased with every aspect of his side’s victory, but called for his players to maintain this form into their upcoming matches.

On West Ham performance

“We played really good. First half we had good combinations, good possession of the ball and although we didn’t achieve a goal, we felt that we were creating a lot of opportunities.

“But the team kept their composure, kept the tempo of the game – which was important – good possession, and we achieve what I think was a deserved victory and a well-played game.

“We were always balanced and solid, because against West Ham, a team with such good players, you have to stay focused on the game.

“A clean sheet is one of the things that we are looking for and we did it today, so I’m very pleased.”

On creating chances

“We produced a lot today. We produced a lot of chances, unbalanced them, kept good possession, have had good mobility.

“We are always looking to improve and try to find solutions and today the boys did very well, so I’m very pleased.

“The fans were amazing – the noise of Molineux.

“Well done to everyone, but we need to keep on going.”

On ‘drama’ of previous matches

“Against Leicester there was drama, so many emotions. Shrewsbury in the cup, we again had drama, and today, you never know until the end of the game what was going to happen.

“Even with the result in our favour we had to stay focused, stay compact, and you have to press and react to the loss of the ball.

“But this is what we want; minute-after-minute, action-after-action, always keep on going.”
