Wolves arrive back at Molineux to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday night following a hard-earned point at Fulham on Boxing Day and an incredible come-from-behind victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday.
And the head coach knows how much of a deciding factor the enthusiastic support of the Molineux crowd can have on his players.
On maintaining momentum against Palace
“It’s very important. We drew with Fulham away from home, we were able to achieve a fantastic victory against Tottenham, and we are back in Molineux.
“The home factor of the competition is very important, but it will be tough because Crystal Palace are a very good team.”
On taking points off the ‘top six’
“We approach every game the same, the opponent does not mean anything regarding out approach. We have to go game-by-game, and for me that is not an issue. There’s noting that I would hold on to.
“All our opponents we take the same care of, we try to do the same things.”
On squad rotation
“Knowing that the schedule is so tight, every game, the previous game and the game after, it’s not only about what you have and what you decide with the starting 11.
“It’s how you prepare the whole game. Fresh legs change a lot of things in football. Sometimes your plan works out great, Tottenham was one of those days, but we know that is not always the same.
“But what we expect and what we prepare, is when you make a substitution the energy immediately comes to the team.”
On Diogo Jota’s availability
“Let’s wait and see. He’s improving, but the first step is that he has to train with the team. We have a small squad which we have to manage, but let’s see.
“We have to manage the squad, because everybody being committed and involved is the best thing a manager can have.”
