Molineux atmosphere can make the difference, says Bennett

Ryan Bennett has reiterated the influence Wolves supporters can have on their team on Friday evening and calls for another electric Molineux atmosphere.

The noise created at Molineux, under the lights, when Chelsea came to town earlier this month lifted Wolves and saw Nuno’s side record a famous win over the Blues.

Now, with league leaders Liverpool arriving in the West Midlands on Friday, Bennett hopes another noisy reception can give the players an extra five per cent once again.

On replicating the Chelsea atmosphere

“I know the club put a lot of work in to get the atmosphere as it is with the lights - we don’t really see that side of it, but I saw it on the Tuesday night before we played Chelsea. We were meeting the coach when they were having a test run and there was a few of us stood in the car park watching it and it was nice to see.

“The video they had on, the lights going, the music playing - it was nice. It kind of give you that little bit and you could tell the atmosphere was going to be like what it was from that. The atmosphere was good and obviously when you score a goal, you get into the lead, that creates its own atmosphere but from start to finish they were brilliant.”

On the recent good form

“It puts us in a good place, the three wins were massive for us, taking nine points as quick as we did was a massive, massive thing. You look at the table now, it’s not something you want to pay too much attention to, but you’re trying to create that gap.

“We’re trying to get where we want to be as quick as we can. We’re on our way to doing that, but we’ve got to realise the situation and understand how hard it’s going to be. We went six without winning and that’s the reality of the Premier League, you can through spells when you’re playing against the top teams every week, it’s tough.”

On the opposition

“I think they’ve been solid, especially more at the back this season. Last season they were always a threat going forward with the players they have, the pace, the power. Obviously, Salah, Mane, Firmino, all the players they can bring in.

“That’s the reality of it, we’ve got that coming and we need to work our socks off to match them, stay compact and hopefully we can nullify the threats they do have, but we’re under no illusions that it’s going to be a really tough game. Liverpool are a team that are exciting to watch, I think everyone appreciates them and it’s going to be a tough game.”
