Ruddy and his team-mates watched on together as Brentford's last-minute equaliser at Fulham ensured that Wolves were guaranteed Premier League football next season, before Nuno's squad completed a memorable weekend with a 2-0 victory over Birmingham at Molineux on Sunday.
"It was a surreal feeling last night, being promoted but knowing that we had to get ready for a game," he said. "We'll have a good celebration now and then look forward to hopefully finishing the season off well and making sure we're champions."
Ruddy has tasted promotion to the top division before, with Norwich City in 2011, but admitted that, seven years later, the feeling is every bit as special.
"It's really special," he continued. "I said when I joined the club that I was joining because it matched the ambition that I had, which was to get back into the Premier League, and we've achieved that.
"I've done it before, but occasions like this get better every single time, and we're going to enjoy this one."
The goalkeeper spent three seasons in the Premier League with Norwich, and was joined at Carrow Road midway through that spell by Ryan Bennett, who has once again provided excellent cover in front of Ruddy in the old gold of Wolves this season.
Bennett, whose last-gasp winner away at Bristol City in December was a key moment in Wolves' push for promotion, says that he and his team-mates are keen to savour the celebrations that come with their achievement.
"It's unbelievable," he said. "Obviously we knew last night, but we wanted to put a show on today and make sure we beat Birmingham, because ultimately we want to win the league, and today's results is a big step towards it, so hopefully we can carry on next week and continues towards that.
"These celebrations are unbelievable and we'll continue to enjoy this for the rest of the season. It's great to have the families out here - great for them and great for all the lads. We'll make sure we enjoy it together as a family, as a team and as a club."
