First half goals from Romain Saiss and Leo Bonatini sealed the victory for Wolves - a win which extended Wolves lead to four points at the top of the Sky Bet Championship.
Â
Speaking after Friday’s game, Nuno said that it was a good win and important win after a tough run of fixtures.
Â
“It was a good win and I think it was a good performance,” the Wolves Head Coach said.Â
Â
“We knew that this was an important fixture after a number of games in a short period of time.Â
Â
“I think we managed the game well and put on a good performance in front of our pack.Â
Â
“We should be proud of what we’ve done but we have to keep going.Â
Â
“We are never comfortable, we can never be comfortable on the pitch, never - it’s the worst mistake that we can do.Â
Â
“I think controlling the situation and playing well - knowing that we have an opponent with quality in front of you.Â
Â
“Of course we have to defend but we are never comfortable. This word doesn’t exist for us.
Â
“It’s hard work - controlling spaces and possession of the ball.Â
Â
“We have a defensive balance, it’s important that we keep a clean sheet again it is very important for us.”
Â
Both of the Wolves goals came from dead ball situations, both taken by full-back Barry Douglas.
Â
Nuno credited hard work on the training ground as well as the quality of the set-pieces following the two goals.
Â
“The credit for our set-pieces has to go to the boys work that we’ve done at Compton and of course to the quality of the delivery,” Nuno said.
Â
“It’s another way in which we can score but in the game we also had other chances and I think we produced enough to make an even bigger score.”
Â
Wolves don’t have another fixture until November 18th away at Reading.
Â
Nuno says that it is a good time for his side to refresh and recover following three games in a week.
Â
“It’s now a good moment for us to rest and to recover - this cycle has been very, very hard for us.
Â
“Three games in such sort time, it’s very hard but physically we have done well.Â
Â
“We have players going to international teams - we have Ruben (Neves) going with Portugal, it’s a deserved prize for the performance that he’s had. It’s a good moment to recover.”
