A product of the club’s academy, Batth has featured nine times for Wolves so far this season scoring two goals from central defence.
Speaking following the win at Burton, Batth expressed his delight in making the landmark appearance, an achievement that he credits to hard work and dedication.
“200 games - if you’d told me that when I was starting out as a young lad, I’d have snapped your hand off,” he said.
“It’s a landmark for myself and my family, and for the people who have helped me to get here.
“Still to this day, they continued to help me to continue the upward spiral - I’ll keep pushing myself every day to be good for the club and push myself higher.
“When you start out on a professional career, you never know how it’s going to end up.
“I’ve always been a person who wants to maximise my ability and I’ll do whatever it takes - I’ll sacrifice my lifestyle and I’ll make sure that I dedicate myself to the game.
“Hopefully the supporters and the fans can see that and they can see how badly I want to do well for this club and I want to drag this club along with me.
“We’ve got a great squad out there now - we look set to make a real fist of it this season.
“I’m not a person who will rest on my laurels, I’ve realised that in football, the next set set-back is around the corner - you’ve got to be one step ahead of it and do what you can off the pitch to prepare for it.
“Looking at it overall, it’s ups and downs with Wolves - we’re a big club and we’ve got to make sure that we’re competing at the right end of the table, we know that.
“To get three points at Burton will set us off into the break nicely.”
Reflecting on Saturday’s win, the 27 year old praised his team mates as well as the fans following the victory.
Goals from Diogo Jota, Romain Saiss, Ruben Vinagre and Leo Bonatini saw Wolves cruise to a 4-0 win at the Pirelli Stadium.
Batth says he was impressed by how Wolves started the game, something he says his team hasn’t done that well in recent weeks.
“It was all about going to Burton and having the right attitude - it was a quick turnaround from the game on Wednesday evening, and they’d had an extra day recovery so we knew we had to be on our game from the start,” he continued.
“That’s what this league requires, we know that - I thought the boys were brilliant, they stood up to it away from home.
“We were backed by our fans the whole way through and we deserved our rewards - the forward boys will get the plaudits but we’re happy at the back to get a clean sheet as well.
“We’ve spoken about starting the game stronger and putting teams on the back foot - that’s something we need to keep working on because we’ve not been that fast out of the traps for some time.
“If we can take that into the next batch of games, we’ll be half way there - we’re looking forward, we will keep working on the training ground and try to replicate that performance.
“We all know that it only takes a moment to score a goal and an opponent is probably at they’re most dangerous when they’re 3-0 down - the strikers start gambling, the midfielders make runs into the box.
“You only need one or two players to switch off for a moment and the game can turn around so easily.
“It was about being cold-blooded and focussing on our bigger mission - making sure that all of us pull together and stay strong.
“I thought the football was sublime at times even from the back we got on the ball - we had to match Burton to start with and then we got on top and pegged them back.
“I’m probably happier with the clean sheet but three points is our aim - zeros and ones gives our front boys a chance to win the game for us.
“We’re proud of the result, we’ve done well on reflection over the few games – overall, it’s been a good batch of games for us.
“We won’t be sitting back and revelling in this, we know we’ve got to kick on again now and show what we’re made of.
“We were licking our wounds a bit following Sheffield - you have to take that one on the chin, it’s about how you react.
“It was only one defeat, and we have to make sure that it was only one defeat and it didn’t become a string of results.
“Saturday answered a lot of questions and the players showed real resilience and mental toughness to come to a place like Burton who are good at home, and turn them over."
