Mason returned to the squad as an unused substitute for Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
In an injury-hit season, Mason has made just 21 appearances, his last came in the 3-1 away win at Barnsley at the end of January.
The 25 year-old is relieved to now be injury-free and Mason says that he is now aiming to make up for lost time.
“I’m happy to be over the injuries now but I feel like I’ve got a lot of lost time to make up for,” he began.
“Obviously, the season’s coming to an end now but I want to try and get as much playing time as possible.
“I kept having little set-backs - when you have a week here and there and you've been out for a long time, it becomes very frustrating.
“It has been quite a tough time since I came here full stop really - I’ve never really got going as much as I’d have liked.
“Hopefully, I’m over the worst of it now and I can kick on.
“I knew straight after the Barnsley game that I was struggling - I couldn't really carry on any longer.
“It’s one of those things, it’s football. It was very frustrating as I felt like I was getting into my stride.
“Hopefully I can put the injury worries behind me and get as much game time between now and the end of the season.
“I’ve had low times - I have so much more respect for the boys who have had the long-term injuries like (Michal) Zyro and Jordan (Graham), they're mental strength must be so high.
“There have been times where I’ve been really down about it but it’s good to see them back and we’re all coming back at the same time now - it would be nice to see us get some game time.
“Everyone’s been good to me - my injury hasn't be half as bad as some of the players, so I can’t complain too much.
“They've all been upbeat, especially Mike (Williamson) who's an old head, he’s always got wise words to say and it’s always good to speak to him.”
Wolves face promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening at Molineux.
Mason says that although Huddersfield need the points, he says that the Wolves players will be out to impress and stake a claim to be part of the manager’s plans for next season.
“They need the points, they've not had the best of runs lately - they had a tough game at the weekend and they’ll be looking to bounce back from that.
“For us, everyone’s fighting for their places for next season and trying to impress.
“For the boys coming back, like myself, I just want to try and get game time an try to impress.
“The good thing about the Championship is that there are games coming thick and fast.
“We need to put the game on Saturday right because it wasn't how we’ve been in recent weeks - it’s not a true reflection of the team.
“Watching the Rotherham game was really tough, I think I was more nervous than the players out on the pitch - it was a really edgy game.
“It’s been tough to watch and it’s been nice to watch as the results have picked up lately as well, that makes you want to get involved even more when they're winning. I’m itching now to get a game.
“I just wish there were a fair few more games to go, we’ve only got three left - it’s definitely come at the wrong time for me.
“I think the team just got back to basics - it’s been quite a tough year with all of the changes but now the manager’s really got us doing what he wants us to do.
“Even on Saturday, we didn't play well but we didn't lose - times before, we've played well and lost.
“Little things like that have started to go our way and the players are starting to adjust to how the manager wants us to play.”
