Kenny Jackett is expecting a stern test from Swansea City as Wolves complete their pre-season preparations in Sir Jack Hayward’s tribute match at Molineux tomorrow (3pm).
Wolves will complete their build-up for the new Sky Bet Championship season with a game against the Premier League Swans ahead of the big kick-off against Rotherham a week later.
All proceeds from the game are to go to Sir Jack’s statue fund, which various special events taking place including a helicopter flypast and Wolves and England legend Ron Flowers bringing out the matchball 50 years to the day since England’s famous triumph at Wembley.
“It has been a good pre-season and we have had the chance to alternate our team and give different players an opportunity,” said Jackett.
“In some games we have fielded a very young team and pre-season is always the time of year when you can do that and have a look at a few players to see how they step up.
“I will be naming a strong side for today’s game, although at some point during the afternoon it may be that our young players are also given an opportunity to see how they perform at Molineux against a Premier League side.
“Swansea are now an established side in the top division and they are well known for trying to play good, attacking football.
“It should provide us with just the sort of test we need before the season starts with Rotherham, and then a packed August programme to follow.”
Meanwhile striker Nouha Dicko looks set to be back to availability within the next month after having the staple removed from his previously injured knee.
“Nouha had the staple removed three weeks ago and has progressed well,” said Head of Wolves Medical Department Phil Hayward.
“He is now back into modified training and over the next few weeks now we will build him up gradually and increase his training intensity and loads to a point where he is available for selection again.
“We expect that to be in maybe three to four weeks time, and he will need some reserve team games to continue that gradual build-up before he is up to speed and ready for the first team.”

Cash turnstiles will only be available on the Billy Wright Stand Blocks 7 and 8.
Any tickets for the Sir Jack Hayward and Stan Cullis Stands must be purchased in advance from the Ticket Office.
The Family Ticket is only available up until 5pm today (Friday).
