Join the Molineux Sleepout from anywhere

The Molineux Sleepout returns on Friday November 14th, offering supporters an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Wolves Foundation and the Good Shepherd, but this year you don’t have to be at the stadium to take part.

Participants can now join the Sleepout virtually, from their own homes, gardens or even in groups at community halls. This new option makes the event more accessible than ever, for younger fans, those who are overseas or unable to attend in person.  For the first time, the on-stage parts of the event will be streamed, allowing those fans taking part in the Virtual event the opportunity to follow the proceedings.

The in-person Sleepout will once again take place in the Stan Cullis Stand at Molineux, where participants will brave the cold overnight to show solidarity with those facing homelessness and hardship across Wolverhampton. But whether you’re inside the stadium or joining virtually, your involvement will help raise vital funds for two charities working at the heart of the community.

One fan who has already signed up is five-year-old Herbie, who will be sleeping out with his dad Connor in their living room.

Connor said: “It’s great that Herbie can now be part of the Sleepout. We’re both big Wolves fans and know of the great work that both charities to do for Wolverhampton. He’s excited to camp out in our living room and do his bit to help others.”

Laura Cahill, business development manager at the Good Shepherd added: “We are delighted that so many people have already signed up for this year’s Sleepout, but now there is an opportunity for others to join in, who may not be able to get to Molineux.

“Hopefully this is something that might appeal to families with younger children, or fans overseas, who will be able to follow some of the event online whilst supporting both charities.”

Tom Hayden, CEO at Good Shepherd said: The Molineux Sleepout is a standout event in our calendar that raises important funds for both charities.

“Whether you’re in the stand or at home, your support will help us to continue our work with those experiencing homelessness.”

Now in its seventh year, the Molineux Sleepout has already raised over £250,000, supporting initiatives to help some of the most disadvantaged people in Wolverhampton. This year, they aim to attract over 200 participants, the biggest number ever to take part in the event and it’s hoped the virtual sleepout will help reach that target.

As added incentive, all participants in the Sleepout who have raised over £250 by midnight on Friday, November 28th will go into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets for the home game with Brentford on December 20th.  And all taking part in the Virtual Sleepout who raise over £100 will be entered into a draw for a signed football.
