Wolves Foundation are delighted to announce that Nuffield Health have extended their sponsorship of Wolves Disability FC into a third season.
The UK’s largest healthcare charity have been a strong supporter of the Disability squad over the last two years, and this will now continue in addition to the investment they provide to the Foundation in their role as a pack patron.
Nuffield Health remain as front-of-shirt sponsor for the Disability’s competitive teams who play in regular fixtures throughout the season, and grace the hallowed Molineux turf twice during the current campaign, firstly, for the under-16s, at half time of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Burnley.
Charlie Cooper, director of operations at Nuffield Health in Wolverhampton, said: “We’re immensely proud to continue our sponsorship of Wolves Disability FC, a group who continue to demonstrate their passion and dedication across their respective teams.
“The disability teams are a hugely important part of the club, but an even more important part of the community, enabling so many people to be part of a team and partake in the sport they love. We’re delighted to be able to play a small part in support of these great teams.
“We felt privileged to be present at the recent launch of the Wolves Foundations’ five- year strategy and look forward to supporting wherever we can, as we work collaboratively to build a better and healthier Wolverhampton.”
Wolves Disability FC now has a squad of approximately 80 players, and has grown considerably since first setting out with a handful of participants 12 years ago.
The club now runs eight different teams – three adults, three under-16s and two under-12s – with regular competitive fixtures taking place in the Staffordshire Ability Counts League.
Some fixtures take place at the home of English football at St George’s Park, while there are weekly training sessions for each team, as well as an additional session for players setting out on the pathway or just wishing to play for enjoyment.
Kieron Ansell, head of business development at Wolves Foundation, added: “Nuffield Health have been such great supporters of the work of Wolves Foundation, both in their role as Pack Patrons, and with this fantastic support of Wolves Disability FC.
“They are an invaluable partner organisation who not only provide investment to support Foundation projects, but also take such a keen interest in finding out more and raising awareness of such a wide range of activities which our staff deliver.
“Wolves Disability is a brilliant example of what the Foundation do, offering both fun and competitive football to people of all ages and abilities, and creating opportunities which they just wouldn’t be able to access elsewhere.
“The support of Nuffield Health and other partner organisations ensure we can continue to play such a pivotal role, and I am looking forward to continuing to work closely together to the benefit of the local community.”
Wolves Disability FC under-16s will take on their counterparts from Burnley during half time of Sunday’s game. Please give both teams plenty of support!
