Win a week's place at a Wolves Soccer School

Wolves Soccer Schools are back for the summer refreshed and ready to go – and there is also a free place up for grabs in a Wolves Foundation competition.

The Soccer Schools are now back running all day at several venues, including the Foundation Arena at Aldersley, but the coaching has been tweaked to be more in line with all things Wolves, allowing participants to dream of following in the footsteps of their treasured heroes.

And while the element is very much on fun and enjoyment, there is also the opportunity for players to make big improvements to their skills thanks to expert guidance from the Foundation coaches.

“We are delighted to have the Soccer Schools back running all day, from 9am to 3pm, and they are already proving very popular,” says Tom Wellings, football development coach with Wolves Foundation.

“During a day of a Soccer Schools we link session content closely to the current Wolves squad.

“For example, during one day we might teach the players how to try and defend like Coady, pass like Neves, dribble like Adama or shoot like Raul, and then the next day do similar but trying to emulate different Wolves players.

“The pitches are given names of the players as well so it’s all about making the participants feel they are part of a really positive Wolves experience.

“The players themselves are also given the chance to decide their own sessions by suggesting things they would like to do, and there is always plenty of game time as well.

“It is about enjoyment but also, especially for those who come for a whole week, offering the chance to make some considerable progress with their skills and development.

“Soccer Schools are available for young players from Reception year up to Year Six - all abilities are welcome and I am sure Wolfie will be popping in from time to time as well!”

Soccer Schools form a part of what was formally known as Core Sports offering from Wolves Foundation which have now moved in closer partnership with the club under ‘Football Projects’ umbrella.

In time this will lead to more opportunities and a wider variety of sessions, with a Wolves Tots group for pre-school children aged between two and four currently in the planning stage for September.

Booking for the other Football Projects sessions on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays – also restarting in September – will be open again soon.  Keep an eye on Wolves Foundation’s website and social media for details.

The last competition to win places at Soccer Schools proved so successful that the Foundation are now offering another chance to win a place on the popular course.  Simply follow @wwfcfoundation on social media, like our post on Facebook or Twitter about Soccer Schools and tag a friend, and you could win a free place for a week before the summer is out!
