The awards are part of the One Fosun CSR week, where Wolves’ owners Fosun and their charity the Fosun Foundation team up to highlight the extensive work and charitable projects which are carried out by Fosun staff across the globe.
Voting is now open in different categories ahead of the awards ceremony which takes place at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall on December 23rd.
Head of Wolves Foundation Will Clowes and health & wellbeing manager Rachel Smith have been nominated in the ‘Fosun CSR Super Man’ category as a mark of the fantastic work they have carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the ‘Public Welfare Project’ category, nominations have been made for three projects which have made a hugely positive impact on the local community during these challenging times – the virtual Molineux Sleepout addressing homelessness and food poverty, Christmas shoebox appeal providing festive gifts to children and the Pen Pal scheme, providing letters from school pupils to elderly residents who may be isolated during the pandemic.
“These awards are part of Fosun’s CSR week of raising awareness of their charitable activities around the world, and there are so many excellent nominations,” says Demi Grundy, Communications and Fundraising Manager with Wolves Foundation.
“We are delighted to have put Will and Rachel forward to highlight the incredible work they have carried out during the pandemic, as well as three of our specific projects which have also proved so important during these challenging times.
“All of the staff at the Foundation and Wolves as a whole are very proud of the way we have managed to adapt and continue to support the local community during 2020, and these nominations offer a snapshot of so much fantastic work which has taken place.”
The Fosun Foundation has donated hundreds of millions of pounds to a wide range of charitable projects since being formed in 2012, in more recent years focusing on culture, education and healthcare.
During the pandemic they have linked up with Wolves Foundation to donate and distribute thousands of items of PPE equipment to local hospitals and care homes to protect front-line workers.
