Jimenez wants FA Cup run

Raul Jimenez enjoyed his first experience in the FA Cup and wants Wolves to enjoy a run in the oldest cup competition in the world.

The striker netted Wolves’ opening goal in Monday’s victory over Liverpool, capitalising on Diogo Jota’s good work, running half of the pitch and firing beyond Simon Mignolet.

In his first FA Cup game, the Mexican followed his goal with an impressive performance and now wants Wolves to continue their adventure ahead of the fourth round against Stoke or Shrewsbury.

On the FA Cup

“It’s important for us to have this win. Now we continue to fight in the FA Cup. I’m proud of the team. We knew how to do this game.

“The FA Cup is very important, the most important cup in England. We were sent out of the Carabao Cup so now it’s our revenge and we want to go a long way in the FA Cup.”

On the goals

“When I saw Diogo touch the ball I had it and scored, it was an amazing feeling to score against Liverpool and to help the team win. Then Ruben has very good technique shooting at the goal. I’m happy for him too.”

On the Liverpool test

“It’s always a difficult game. We know anyone can play in the Liverpool squad, all of them are good players, so we knew it was going to be difficult. We were prepared to play anyone and we made a good match.”
