Wolves took a two goal lead in front of a 28,000-strong crowd at Molineux as a Barry Douglas free kick and an effort from Ivan Cavaleiro meant that they led 2-0 at half time.
The visitors then pulled a goal back just minutes after the interval as Ezgjan Alioski latched on to a Samuel Saiz cross and volleyed beyond John Ruddy.
Wolves then went on to seal all three points - Jota scored Wolves third and Helder Costa scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot to secure the win.
Nuno said that he felt Wolves played well and but he also admitted that the victory was ‘harder than it seems’.
He said, “I think to be honest, it was a good performance but the result doesn’t say how hard the game was - it was a tough game.
“In the first half, we played well and we managed the game better but there was a moment in the second half where we conceded a goal and the team didn’t react well, and we lost control of the game.
“It was a good result but it was harder than it seems. The boys did well to go for the third and then for the fourth because that is the way that you can control the game.
“Going on to score the third and fourth shows that the team has character - to know that the game is never over.
“There is an appetite for goals and I think the stadium deserved it as well.
“Our fans, thanks for the support, they began to demand that the boys kept pushing - this is the attitude that we all want.
“In moments we played good football and we had possession in which we were always threatening.
“We knew what we were gong to find in Leeds - they are a team with two lines of four and we had to have patience but at the same time control their counter attack. The first half specifically was very good.
Leeds were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark as Ronaldo Viera picked ups second booking for a foul on Diogo Jota.
Nuno felt that the red card for Viera was a correct decision but one that ultimately changed the game.
“We know how hard it is to play with one man less and Leeds played with one man less,” Nuno continued.
“It was a determining moment but it was fair and I think it was a good decision from the referee.
“Being top of the league doesn’t mean anything - we have to value what we’ve been doing.
“We now start tomorrow preparing for Saturday.”
