Wolves are three matches unbeaten and buoyed by that comeback draw in midweek. On Sunday Rob Edwards’ side travel to Crystal Palace, and here’s all you need to know pre-match.

After going off with an injury in the first half of Wolves' 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday evening, Angel Gomes is expected to be back fit for Sunday's visit to Selhurst Park. In his pre-match press conference, Rob Edwards confirmed Gomes suffered a back issue in the midweek tie, but the injury has now cleared up and allowed the midfielder to train with the team. Edwards also revealed his side have a few niggles ahead of heading to Crystal Palace, but has been boosted by Toti's return to training. The captain has been out of action since December with a hamstring injury, but could be involved this weekend.

Following their 1-1 draw with Bosnian outfit HSK Zrinjski Mostar on Thursday night, Crystal Palace face a quick turnaround for Sunday's Premier League visit of Wolves, and Oliver Glasner - who is under increasing pressure - is set to be without long-term absentees Cheick Doucoure, Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Philippe Mateta, while Jefferson Lerma will be missing once again after going off at half time against Burnley last weekend and was absent for the trip to Bosnia. Maxence Lacroix was forced off on Thursday evening and will face a late fitness tests to see if he will be able to face the Old Gold, while felloe defender Chadi Riad should be able to recover from the cramp which he suffered in midweek.

3 | Journey to Sunday

Tom Edozie’s stoppage time equaliser against Arsenal both shook up the Premier League title race and marked the latest positive for Edwards’ side. The Old Gold came from two goals down at Molineux, with Hugo Bueno’s Goal of the Season contender starting the fightback before the youngster struck. The 2-2 made it three matches unbeaten for Wolves, who’ve also drawn with Nottingham Forest in the league and beaten Grimsby Town in the Emirates FA Cup recently. The Old Gold have now lost only three of their past 11 matches in all competitions and, having won at Blundell Park in the cup, a first Premier League win on the road is the target on Sunday.

Crystal Palace were in Europa Conference League action on Thursday night, where they came way with a draw from HSK Zrinjski Mostar. Ismaila Sarr was on target for the Eagles, who then had to travel back from Bosnia ahead of Sunday’s game. The last time in Premier League action Palace threw away a two-goal lead at Selhurst Park to lose 3-2 to 19th placed Burnley, despite Jorgen Strand Larsen scoring twice following his move from Molineux. Oliver Glasner’s side did beat Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in February, but that is their only win in 11 Premier League matches, which leaves them eight points ahead of the drop zone going into the weekend.

4 | Doc strikes at Selhurst

Wolves’ recent record at Selhurst Park makes sorry reading, having lost the past five and going without a victory in their last six visits.

The Old Gold’s last success away at the Eagles came in 2018, when Matt Doherty scored the only goal for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who were settling into the Premier League well.

At a soaked Selhurst Park, both sides played out a goalless draw, but the one real moment of quality on 56 minutes settled the encounter.

A quick one-two with Raul Jimenez worked the Irishman into a dangerous position and he fired between the post and former Wolves stopper Wayne Hennessey, before celebrating with a perfect knee slide in front of the away end. Three points on the road.
